Kevin Feige wanted the Avengers: Endgame finale to be as impactful as Logan

August 10, 2019 by Liam Waddington

President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has claimed he wanted the Avengers: Endgame finale to be as impactful as the ending of Logan.

During the final battle in Endgame, Tony Stark tragically met his demise after channelling the power of the Infinity Stones to defeat Thanos and his army.

While speaking about Tony’s death (via: Cinema Blend), Feige stated the crew took huge inspiration from the death of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in Logan when deciding how the hero would bow out of the franchise.

Feige stated, “We saw Logan like the audience did, in a theater having nothing to do with the making of that film and went, ‘oh my god, what an amazing ending for Hugh as this character.’ And there are only a handful of examples where an actor so associated with a character can go out perfectly. That’s what we desperately wanted to give Robert, and that was what our focus was on.”

The tear-jerking conclusion of Wolverine came to end after being brutally injured at the hands of his violent clone, X-24. Hugh Jackman portrayed the clawed hero for nine movie across 17 years.
