Daniel Bruhl to make directorial debut on Next Door

September 30, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Rush and Captain America: Civil War star Daniel Bruhl is set to make his feature directorial debut on Next Door, a German-language comedy which is being produced through the actor’s own company Amusement Park Films.

According to Deadline, the film “will explore the subjects of gentrification and social inequality in Berlin”, although specific plot details are being kept under wraps. Bruhl will also star in the film as co-lead alongside another actor who is yet to be cast, and filming is slated to get underway in the spring in Berlin.

Bruhl’s other screen credits include the likes of Good Bye, Lenin!, Inglourious Basterds and The Alienist. He will next be seen on the big screen in the Kingsman prequel The King’s Man, and also reprises his Marvel Cinematic Universe role as Helmut Zemo for the Disney+ Marvel series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
