Natalie Portman keen to explore Jane’s breast cancer storyline in Thor: Love and Thunder

October 22, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Natalie Portman has revealed her excitement about Thor: Love and Thunder possibly adapting Jane’s breast cancer storyline.

Natalie Portman is confirmed to be returning as Jane in Thor: Love and Thunder where the character will take up the mantle of the Mighty Thor, becoming worthy to lift his iconic hammer. But there is also talk that the film will adapt a storyline from the comics where Jane has breast cancer and transforming into Thor makes her symptoms worse.

What does Portman think of possibly adapting this storyline for the big screen? The actress commented during a recent interview with Variety:

“I really don’t know anything about it. I haven’t seen anything, but I’ve heard the same rumors as you have, and it’s exciting to think about. I think that’s a really powerful part of the books. I think it’s really cool that she’s fighting this thing and there’s two battles going on. Personally I really love that storyline. But whether it ends up in the film is yet to be seen.”
