Joel Edgerton teases his return as Uncle Owen in the Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars series

October 22, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Joel Edgerton looks to be teasing a return as Uncle Owen for the Disney+ Star Wars series about Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Before Joel Edgerton became a big star, he was seen portraying a young Uncle Owen in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Now that this time period is being revisited with the upcoming Obi-Wan Disney+ series, rumours have been circulating that Edgerton could be set to make his return to the role.

Well, the actor is certainly being coy about it, strongly suggesting that something could happen. Speaking to the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Edgerton said: “There is a very real possibility. There’s potentially an assassin on a rooftop just outside the window if I say the wrong thing. I’d love to say all sorts of things. I’m just not going to.”

There is only one way to take comments like these, and it would certainly make sense to see the character appearing, given that in the timeline of the series (eight years after Revenge of the Sith) he and Beru are busy raising young Luke Skywalker on their Tatooine Homestead while the exiled Kenobi watches on from afar.
