Jeff Goldblum, Bryan Cranston, Ed Norton & more to voice Wes Anderson’s forthcoming stop-motion animated dog film

October 15, 2015 by William Fanelli

Details of Wes Anderson’s next film are beginning to come to light and let’s just say they sound promising. We learned last week that the project will be a stop-motion animated feature and that its central protagonist will be a dog. Now, thanks to none other than Mr. Jeff Goldblum, we know the cast will consist of himself, Bryan Cranston, Ed Norton and Bob Balaban.

Goldblum broke the news during a jazz show in Los Angeles, where the actor performs weekly with his band, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. Nerdist reports that Goldblum confirmed he and the above-mentioned actors would be voicing a pack of dogs in Anderson’s forthcoming stop-animation film. He also noted that the film would be “Japanese-inspired” but failed to elaborate further on what that meant exactly.

Taking things up another notch is the fact that Anderson, Cranston and Norton were recently spotted in a restaurant in New York with Bill Murray, suggesting the lattermost — a longtime Wes Anderson collaborator — may also be among the cast.

Provided the above cast does prove to be true, Anderson’s next film will mark numerous reunions with Murray, Goldblum, Balaban and Norton all having starred in his last feature The Grand Budapest Hotel. The only newcomer of the bunch is Cranston, who should prove to fit right in.

The proposed upcoming stop-motion doggy film would mark Anderson’s first return to animation since his 2009 feature Fantastic Mr. Fox.
