Connor Hawke coming to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

October 22, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Following word that DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is looking to cast an “African-American or bi-racial male who decides to put on the uniform of a missing hero who once stood for justice and hope”, Comic Book has confirmed speculation that the character of Connor Hawke is set to join the Arrow and The Flash spinoff series.

In the comic books, Connor is the son of Oliver Queen and his college girlfriend Sandra Hawke, although Warner Bros. has reportedly stated that this won’t be the case with regards to Legends of Tomorrow’s iteration of the character. The site goes on to speculate that given the introduction of alternate universes and time travel, Connor could either be a version of Green Arrow from another Earth, or one from the future.

When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?”

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is slated to premiere in 2016, with a cast that includes Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/Firestorm), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory/Heat Wave) and Caity Lotz (Sara Lance/White Canary) alongside Ciara Renee (Law & Order: SVU) as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, Falk Hentschel (Transcendence) as Carter Hall/Hawkman, Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who) as Rip Hunter, Franz Drameh (Attack the Block) as Jay Jackson, Casper Crump (The Killing) as Vandal Savage, Stephanie Corneliussen (Mr. Robot) as Valentina Vostok and Peter Francis James (The Losers) as Dr. Aldus Boardman.
