Visions of N’Zoth arrives on World of Warcraft

January 15, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the latest content update, Visions of N’Zoth, is now live on World of Warcraft.  This epic conclusion to the Battle for Azeroth adds two new allied races, a new raid set in N’Zoth’s domain of Ny’alotha, new assaults on Uldum and the Vale of Eternal Blossoms and much more.  Check out the new trailer below to see what’s new…

The Visions of N’Zoth update sees the Old God N’Zoth unleashed from his prison and the land of Azeroth becoming consumed by an ancient corruption, one which traps the minds of warriors in endless nightmares.  Warriors of the Alliance and the Horde must fight if they are to regain their sanity.

The only way for players to protect their warrior from the corrupting influence of N’Zoth is to use an object of pure corruption, fortunately this update will allow players to work with the masterful Black Dragonflight to craft the legendary cloak Ashjra’kamas, Shroud of Resolve.  There is also armour and weaponry to find that has been tainted by corruption.  These items provide a huge increase in power but with varying degrees of cost due to the corrupting effects on the warrior’s mind, low levels of corruption will have minor effects such as slow down while high levels of corruption can unleash denizens of the void.

Two new Allied Races make their appearance, the clever fox-like Vulpera are eager to join the ranks of the Horde while the Mechgnomes favour the Alliance.  Both race have skills that will be beneficial and leveling each from level 20-120 will earn them a cosmetic Heritage Armour.

Players also have the opportunity to attempt a new raid in Ny’alotha, the Waking City where N’Zoth sits upon his throne surrounded by his corrupted armies.  In this raid, Champions of the Horde and Alliance will take the battle to his realm where they will fight 12 different and challenging bosses, including N’Zoth himself.  The schedule for the raid is:

  • 21st January  – Normal and Heroic Difficulties.
  • 8th January  – Mythic Ny’alotha and Raid Finder Wing 1 (Vision of Destiny: Wrathion, the Black Emperor, Maut, The Prophet Skitra).
  • 11th February  – Raid Finder Wing 2 (Halls of Devotion: Dark Inquisitor Xanesh, Vexiona, The Hivemind, Ra-den the Despoiled).
  • 25th February  – Raid Finder Wing 3 (Gift of Flesh: Shad’har the Insatiable, Drest’agath, Il’gynoth, Corruption Reborn).
  • 10th March  – Raid Finder Wing 4 (The Waking Dream: Carapace of N’Zoth, N’Zoth the Corruptor).

Visions of N’Zoth is spreading its corruption across Azeroth now.
