John Wick director Chad Stahelski teams with A Quiet Place producers for car-themed action movie

March 4, 2020 by EJ Moreno

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that John Wick director Chad Stahelski is teaming with producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller for brand-new action film for Paramount Pictures.

The script will come from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles writers Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum. The writing team first met with Form and Fuller while working on Michael Bay’s Ninja Turtle reboots. This project will be all four men’s first time working with the director of the first three John Wick films.

While specific plot details are being kept under wraps, it’s said to take inspiration from car movies. It’s described as a “high-concept spin capturing the spirit of the great car movies” that will involve a unique relationship story. Think along the lines of Fast and the Furious, Baby Driver, and Gone in 60 Seconds.

Stahelski is known for launching the John Wick franchise with Hobbs & Shaw director David Leitch, and most recently directed John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. He also was brought in to punch-up the action scenes in Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey film and is next directing John Wick: Chapter 4, which is set for release next year.
