Jason Blum says talks have taken place to turn Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights into a movie

March 11, 2020 by Liam Waddington

Every year Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights event takes place at Universal Parks around the world including Los Angeles, Orlando, Singapore, and Osaka. This event features both originally designed haunted house attractions and others that are adapted from feature films and television for a chance for fans to experience their favourite properties.

While at first, it may seem baffling to imagine such an event being adapted as a horror film on the big screen, producer Jason Blum has revealed in an interview with Collider, that talks have taken place regarding the idea.

“Yes! Definitely!” Blum said. “We’ve actually talked about it. We haven’t quite figured it out, but there’s definitely a movie in Halloween Horror Nights somewhere.”

Many of Blumhouse’s horror films, including Us, Happy Death Day, Sinister, Truth or Dare, and The Purge, have had a presence at Halloween Horror Nights, and so it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if Jason Blum and Blumhouse would be the studio behind the feature film adaptation if such a project were to happen.

Would you like to see a Halloween Horror Nights movie from Blumhouse? Do you have an idea on how to adapt such an event to the big screen? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @flickeringmyth…
