Streets of Rage 4 gets April release date and Battle Mode trailer

April 18, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Dotemu along with co-developers Lizardcube and Guard Crush have announced that Streets of Rage 4 will arrive on 30th April on PC and consoles.  This revival of one of videogaming’s most iconic titles will support two-player online and up to four-player offline co-op, an all-new playable character and all the action-packed enjoyment of the previous titles.  A new trailer has been released (see below) showcasing the game’s new Battle Mode.

The game’s Battle Mode was first introduced in Streets of Rage 2 and will allow players to fight their friends in Versus or Team mode to find out who is the city’s finest fighter.  There are 8 different battle arenas to take on friends in.

Streets of Rage 4, as with its predecessors, will see players fight through gritty, neon-streaked urban environments, taking on gang members every step of the way.  There’s an all-new scenario to fight through bringing new city boroughs and gritty streets.  As well as Axel, Blaze and Adam, this sequel to SEGA’s iconic series will feature a brand-new character called Floyd who is able to dish out serious damage.

Streets of Rage 4 will feature a fluid hand-drawn art style plus an original soundtrack from Olivier Derivière with contributions from composers Yūzō Koshiro (Streets of Rage 1, 2, & 3, Sonic the Hedgehog) and Motohiro Kawashima (Streets of Rage 2 & 3, Shinobi II).

Streets of Rage 4 will arrive on Xbox One, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC on 30th April.
