Thanks to Total Film, we’ve got a new look at returning stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine as Diana Prince and Steve Trevor from this year’s (for the time being, at least) DC Extended Universe sequel Wonder Woman 1984; check it out here…
Meanwhile, speaking to the outlet, director Patty Jenkins has sought to clarify past comments about 1984 not being a sequel to 2017’s Wonder Woman, with the filmmaker explaining:
“There was a little period of time where people got very upset, and questioning: ‘Is it not a sequel? Is it a total reboot?’ It is a sequel, insofar as nothing is contradicted between the two movies. But it’s very important to me that it’s not more of the first movie. It’s a totally different movie. Now, when you see the trailer, you can feel it. It’s a different tone, look, feel, world, and context. That was what important to me. This is its own standalone story that, of course, is also a continuation of our characters and their linear line. It’s just its own movie with its own very different feel.”

Wonder Woman 1984 was recently delayed to August 14th due to the global health crisis closing down theaters worldwide, although it remains to be seen whether it has any hope of making that date. Nevertheless, Warner Bros. has confirmed that it remains committed to a theatrical release, rather than debuting the movie digitally.
Wonder Woman 1984 reunites Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins with stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Ewen Bremner (Charlie), Said Taghmaoui (Sameer), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe), Doutzen Kroes (Venelia) and new additions Kristen Wiig (Ghostbusters) as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah, Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) as Maxwell Lord, and Natasha Rothwell (Love, Simon), Ravi Patel (Master of None, Grandfathered) and Gabriella Wilde (Doctor Who, Poldark) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
