Hobbs & Shaw director teams with The Meg writers for Fast and Loose

May 4, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Deadpool 2 and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw director David Leitch is teaming with Red and The Meg screenwriters Jon and Erich Hoeber to produce the action thriller Fast and Loose for STX.

As revealed by THR, Fast and Loose will follow “a man who wakes up in Tijuana after being left for dead with absolutely no memory. As he follows a string of clues to uncover his identity, he discovers that he’s been living two different lives: one, as a super-successful crime kingpin, surrounded by beautiful women and expensive toys; and the other as an undercover CIA agent, but with a puny salary, no family or home life whatsoever and zero trappings of success. The problem is, he can’t remember which of these two personas is his true identity.”

Leitch – whose credits also include John Wick and Atomic Blonde – is set to produce Fast and Loose through his 87North production label, although he won’t be taking on directing duties on the project.

He is however attached to direct the vampire action thriller Undying Love and video game adaptation The Division, while it was reported back in January that he’s also set to helm a big screen remake of the classic TV series Kung Fu.
