Bryan Fuller is “very hopeful” about Hannibal season 4

July 17, 2020 by Liam Waddington

Bryan Fuller, the creator of the TV series Hannibal, has revealed that he is still “very hopeful” that a fourth season will be developed despite being axed by NBC following the third season.

During a recent reunion of the cast and crew (via Nerdist), Fuller revealed that he is confident that a fourth season could come to fruition one day and if another season were to happen, he would like to explore a new look for the series

“I am very hopeful,” Fuller revealed. “The great thing about the idea that if we are going to be meeting [back up with Hannibal and Will] and it takes five, six, seven years or what have you, that’s just how long they’ve been on the lam. Then the story picks up from that point. And we’ll adapt.”

“It’s very sort of sunny and sweaty, as compared to the cold, harsh realities of Toronto,” Fuller continued. “I think it would be fun to go sunny and sweaty and beachy. A whole new temperature to the cinema.”

It’s no wonder the cast and crew are so eager to make another season after the third season ended on a literal cliffhanger as Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) embraced one another before throwing themselves off a cliff – leaving audiences wondering about the fate of the two characters.

Last year, Fuller also took to Twitter to reveal that “no one has given up” on trying to get Hannibal season four developed including the cast and crew, but the only problem that remains is finding a network or streaming service to air it.

“No one has given up! I’ve made it clear I want to do it, the cast wants to do it and Martha wants to do it. We just need a network or a streaming service that wants to do it, too. I don’t feel there’s a clock on it or an expiration date for the idea. We just need someone to bite.”
