Having already signed on to direct the first sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey, The Wrap is reporting that James Foley (Glengarry Glen Ross, House of Cards) will now also helm the final instalment of Universal’s Fifty Shades trilogy, and will shoot both Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed back-to-back next year.
Both Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are set to reprise their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele from this year’s blockbuster adaptation of the E.L. James bestseller, which was directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and pulled in $570 million worldwide from a budget of just $40 million.
Fifty Shades Darker is set for release on February 10th 2017, followed by Fifty Shades Freed on February 9th 2018.
