Sensible Soccer returning with “spiritual successor” Sociable Soccer

November 15, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Jon Hare, lead designer on Sensible Soccer and its follow-up Sensible World of Soccer, has announced the upcoming release of the “spiritual successor” to the beloved video game series, Sociable Soccer.

“For years I have been planning the spiritual successor to Sensible Soccer,” states Hare. “Competing with FIFA and PES requires much more than just a remake, it needs a different take on football games altogether, blending the instant playability of yesteryear with the power of modern technology.”

Hare is hoping to launch the game for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in late 2016, and has launched a Kickstarter campaign in order to try and raise £300,000 of funding.

Sociable Soccer will bring fast paced, arcade style football games up to date with endless friendly matches, over 30 single player trophies to win, DIY competitions for up to 8 player controlled teams on a single machine, an online multiplayer mode, personalised player avatars and clan based online leagues.

Sociable Soccer will be crafted with the same meticulous attention to detail as the very finest Sensible Software titles, to deliver a peerless gameplay experience across all platforms. The game will be developed, under Jon Hare’s guidance, by a crack team of triple-A developers previously involved in creating games like Max Payne, Alan Wake and The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land.

If you’d like to help Sociable Soccer become a reality, you can find the Kickstarter page here.
