The Flash begins production as director Andy Muschietti reveals logo

April 19, 2021 by Ricky Church

It has been a long road with several production delays and director changes, but The Flash feature film has finally begun production as director Andy Muschietti revealed the film’s logo on the first day of shooting.

Production is taking place in London and other parts of the UK. Plot details have been murky, but the film is said to be a loose adaptation of The Flash event series Flashpoint, which saw the world’s history drastically changed.

The film may see Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen take more of a trip through the multiverse as Batman and Batman Returns star Michael Keaton is expected to don the cape and cowl once again for the film as previous concept art revealed by Muschietti showed off Miller’s Flash and Keaton’s Batman in a team-up.

However, Keaton recently cast some uncertainty towards his return due to the ongoing health crisis and some potential scheduling conflicts. While there hasn’t been a formal announcement either way, hopefully Muschietti’s production reveal means all has been worked out for Keaton to reprise his famous role.

The Flash will see the return of Ezra Miller as Barry Allen alongside Zack Snyder’s Justice League co-stars Ben Affleck as Batman and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, while DCEU newcomers include Ron Livingston (Office Space) as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu (Pan’s Labyrinth) as Nora Allen, and Sasha Calle (The Young and the Restless) as Supergirl.

The Flash is set for a November 4th, 2022 release.
