Blake Lively teams with Netflix for psychological thriller We Used to Live Here

June 5, 2021 by Gary Collinson

Netflix has secured the rights to We Used to Live Here, tapping Blake Lively to produce and star in a feature film adaptation of Marcus Kliewer’s psychological thriller novella, which was originally posted to Reddit’s NoSleep subreddit.

As per Deadline, We Used to Live Here follows a homeowner who “gets a knock at her door while her partner is at work. It’s a husband, wife and kids. They are peculiar, and the man says he once lived in the house and wanted to take a look around. The homeowner is just getting used to the old house herself, and things get progressively weirder as a snowstorm strands the visitors as they just won’t leave. The homeowner can’t get rid of them, and winds up sorry she ever opened the door as events progress.”

We Used to Live Here is the second r/nosleep purchase by Netflix in the past year alongside Matt Query’s My Wife & I Bought a Ranch. It’s also the second Netflix project for Lively in the past month, with the actress having recently signed on to produce and star in an adaptation of Dark Horse Comics’ Lady Killer for the streamer.
