Noah Jupe and Jaeden Martell to star in new Lost Boys movie

September 18, 2021 by EJ Moreno

The Lost Boys is a cult classic, winning over fans with its stellar cast and vampire goodness, and Warner Bros. is hoping to recapture that magic in a brand new film.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the story that WB is moving forward with a “brand new, reimagined take on the 1980s teen vampire classic.” Jonathan Entwistle (I Am Not Okay with This) directs the film, while writer Randy McKinnon (Static Shock) will pen.

At the center of the film are Noah Jupe and Jaeden Martell; both will headline the movie. Noah Jupe is known for starring in A Quiet Place films, while Jaeden Martell made his name with the recent Warner Bros. IT films and Rian Johnson’s Knives Out. There’s no word on who these characters will play.

Along with the hush details on the casting, there are even fewer details about the updated plot. THR reports that the film is reportedly set in modern times and will loosely follow the original’s story.

1987’s The Lost Boys followed the story of two brothers who move to a new town and discover that the area is a haven for vampires. Joel Schumacher directed the film, and it starred Jason Patric and Corey Haim as the brothers. The film also featured another brother duo, The Frog Brothers, played by Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander. Noah Jupe and Jaeden Martell could be tackling either set of brothers in the film, with an updated version possibly focusing on the vampire-obsessed Frog Brothers.
