Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul to guest star in Better Call Saul final season

April 11, 2022 by Ricky Church

To quote one of Breaking Bad‘s famous catchphrases, “Yeah bitch!” In the final season of AMC’s Better Call Saul, co-creator Peter Gould has announced that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul will guest star as their iconic Breaking Bad characters Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

The news was announced at PaleyFest during the festival’s Better Call Saul panel. Gould said to the audience “I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, ‘Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ Instead of evading, I’ll just say yeah. How or the circumstances or anything, you’ll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that’s one of many things that I think you’ll discover this season.”

Better Call Saul is a prequel to Breaking Bad which charts Jimmy McGill’s origin into the criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. Goodman was introduced in Breaking Bad’s second season when Walt and Jesse hired him for help and he quickly became a breakout character and central figure in Walt and Jesse’s criminal dealings. Cranston and Paul recently reprised their roles for the Breaking Bad movie El Camino which followed Jesse in the immediate aftermath of the series finale.

The final season concludes the complicated journey and transformation of its compromised hero, Jimmy McGill, into criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. From the cartel to the courthouse, from Albuquerque to Omaha, season six tracks Jimmy, Saul, and Gene as well as Jimmy’s complex relationship with Kim, who is in the midst of her own existential crisis. Meanwhile, Mike, Gus, Nacho and Lalo are locked into a game of cat and mouse with mortal stakes.

Better Call Saul stars Bob Edenkirk as Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman, Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler, Patrick Fabian as Howard Hamlin, Jonathan Banks as Mike Ehrmantraut, Michael Mando as Nacho Vargo, Giancarlo Esposito as Gus Fring and Tony Dalton as Lalo.
