Fargo star Rachel Keller has signed on to appear in Legion, the upcoming X-Men series from FX and Marvel, Deadline is reporting. Keller will play the female lead, “a scrappy, optimistic woman in her 20s.”
Legion – which is one of two X-Men series in development, the other being Hellfire – has been written by Noah Hawley (Fargo), who also executive produces with X-Men producers Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg and Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory, John Cameron and Steve Blackman.
The series is based on the comic book character Legion, the son of Charles Xavier, who has spent his time in and out of various psychiatric hospitals having been diagnosed as schizophrenic, but comes to believe the voices and visions in his head may be real.
