The Marvel Cinematic Universe got its first sex scene last year as Gemma Chan’s Sersi and Richard Madden’s Ikaris managed to squeeze in a horizontal shuffle in Eternals, and now this year Marvel Studios is bringing the nudity!
Yes, as revealed by the MPAA’s rating for the film, Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder has been rated PG-13 for “intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, language, some suggestive material and partial nudity.”
Based on the trailer, it seems a safe bet that the partial nudity will be the scene where Russell Crowe’s Zeus flicks away a captive Thor’s clothing much to the delight of onlookers.
And for any concerned parents out there, we don’t expect to see Thor windmilling Little Mjolnir to make his escape; given the “partial” nudity, it’s likely just a quick unpixellated version of this shot:
Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Love and Thunder” finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. Directed by Thor: Ragnarok helmer Taika Waititi, who also reprises his on-screen role as Korg, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), alongside the returning Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Dave Bautista (Drax) and Sean Gunn (Kraglin), with Christian Bale (Ford v Ferrari) as Gorr the God Butcher and Russell Crowe (Man of Steel) as Zeus.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set for release on July 8th, 2022.
