Fast & Furious 7 will “retire” Paul Walker’s character rather than killing him off

January 4, 2014 by admin

The future of the Fast & Furious franchise has been surrounded by what can only be described as an air of uncertainty since the shock passing of Paul Walker in November of last year and it now seems as if Universal has worked out a respectable way to lay Walker’s character Brian O’Connor to rest.

Although Walker had already filmed numerous scenes for Fast & Furious 7, it was unknown whether these scenes would be used or they would be abandoned all together. However, according to THR, Walker’s character will not be killed off and will instead be retired “in a way that the studio hopes will satisfy fans of the franchise and make use of the exciting footage of Walker.” Of course additional scenes will be written in order to create a proper conclusion for the character.

Fast and Furious 7 will open in cinemas on April 10th 2015, with a cast that also includes franchise veterans Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Lucas Black alongside Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy), Tony Jaa (Ong Bak), Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones) and Ronda Rousey (The Expendables 3).
