John Boyega ranks his Star Wars films from best to worst

July 25, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Like the fandom, Star Wars performers often have their picks for favorites and least favorites. For actor John Boyega (best known for his time as Finn in the recent Star Wars Sequel Trilogy), he looks at the franchise based on his own performances.

Appearing in First We Feast’s Truth or Dab Rapid Fire video series, the actor almost broke the internet with his ranking of best to worst performances, as he put the lightning rod that is Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi in dead last.

He declares, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens is most definitely the best. Second, for me, comes [Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker], and then the worst — in the most respectful sense — is Episode VIII [The Last Jedi].”

He notes pretty quickly that he thought the films were all “lovely,” but the shade was already thrown. Boyega was never one to be silent about his time on Star Wars, even being highly critical of his time in the galaxy far, far away. Though, the actor seems more favorable these days when he reflects on his feelings about franchise filmmaking, even leaving the door for a Finn return in recent comments about the saga.

Could John Boyega join his Star Wars Sequel Trilogy co-star Daisy Ridley in her upcoming film? Only time will tell, but at least Boyega seems happier than ever as an actor – at least pre-SAG-AFTRA strike.

Check out the full interview below…
