In The Unliving take the role of a vengeful necromancer who desires to punish the living in order to repair his broken soul.  It’s up to players to sweep across the land, killing all those who stand before the undead legions and making them rise once more to fight against their brothers in arms.  Each re-animated enemy class have their own unique ability, such as the cleric who once blessed the living will cast curses upon them when re-animated.

Features of The Unliving include:

  • The ability to turn enemies killed in battle into undead minions to fight by your side.
  • Necromancers are able to sacrifice members of the undead horde in order to release powerful spells during battle.
  • Procedurally generated environments made up from a selection of highly detailed pixel art chunks.
  • Death is not the end and despite permadeath, players will be resurrected and keep their progress. Gathered necromantic resources can be used to restore the citadel hub.
  • The living have employed powerful creatures in the hope of stopping the undead advance but if they are defeated they can be resurrected with their own fighting style.
  • Players will be able to meet members of their own cult and interrogate enemies to find out the truth behind the necromancer’s immortality.
