Ethan Hawke and the original cast answer the call for The Black Phone 2

November 29, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

Ethan Hawke (Training Day), Mason Thames (Doctor Strange), Madeleine McGraw (Secrets of Sulphur Springs), Jeremy Davies (LOST) and Miguel Mora (The Black Phone) are all set to reprise their roles for The Black Phone 2.

When Scott Derrickson’s The Black Phone defied the post-pandemic box-office landscape to gross $161M worldwide, off a Blumhouse-level budget of just $18 million, it’s safe to say that the cast wouldn’t be sat by their phones waiting for the sequel-summoning call for too long, and Deadline has confirmed that the entire cast have picked up the receiver for the sequel, which is set to hit cinemas on June 27, 2025.

Directed by Sinister‘s Scott Derrickson and co-written with regular collaborator C. Robert Cargill, The Black Phone followed Finney (Mason Thames), a 13-year old boy who finds himself kidnapped and held captive by the child kidnapper and serial killer The Grabber (Ethan Hawke). While locked in his basement he starts to receive calls on a disconnected phone from the killer’s previous victims.
