Nico Parker, Laura Linney and Woody Harrelson star in trailer for feelgood drama Suncoast

January 18, 2024 by Matt Rodgers

Searchlight Pictures has released the trailer for Laura Chinn’s semi-autobiographical drama Suncoast, which tells the story of a girl struggling to balance the pressures of being a teenager with caring for her sick brother.

Drawing from her own experiences as a caretaker for her sibling, Chinn (Florida Girls) makes her directorial debut with Suncoast, enlisting Nico Parker, who gave a memorable performance in HBO’s The Last of Us, as her teenage protagonist Doris, Ozark‘s Laura Linney as her mother, and True Detective‘s Woody Harrelson as an eccentric activist she befriends; check out the trailer below…

Inspired by the semi-autobiographical story of a teenager (Nico Parker) who, while caring for her brother along with her audacious mother (Laura Linney), strikes up an unlikely friendship with an eccentric activist (Woody Harrelson) who is protesting one of the most landmark medical cases of all time.

Suncoast will premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival before streaming on Hulu from February 9th.
