Andrew Scott is Ripley in trailer for Netflix’s Patricia Highsmith series

Netflix has debuted the first trailer and a poster for Ripley, the upcoming eight-episode thriller from writer-director Steven Zaillian.

Based on Patricia Highsmith’s bestselling Tom Ripley novels, the series stars Andrew Scott in the title role as the grifter Tom Ripley, alongside Dakota Fanning as Marge Sherwood, and Johnny Flynn as Dickie Greenleaf; take a look below…

Tom Ripley (Andrew Scott), a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son to return home. Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder.

Ripley arrives on Netflix on April 4th.
