February 15, 2024 by Ricky Church

A new Sherlock Holmes adventure is on the way courtesy of The CW as it has greenlit the mystery thriller series Sherlock & Daughter. It will see the famous detective pairing up with an unlikely partner to solve new mysteries: his daughter.

David Thewlis (The Artful Dodger) will star as Sherlock while Blu Hunt (The Originals) will play his daughter Amelia. Also starring is Dougray Scott (Batwoman) as Sherlock’s adversary Professor Moriarty.

The official synopsis reads: “The mystery thriller puts Sherlock Holmes out of his comfort zone, mysteriously unable to investigate a sinister case without risking the lives of his closest friends. Enter: young American Amelia. After her mother’s mysterious murder, she learns her missing father may be the legendary detective. Despite wildly different backgrounds and attitudes, the pair must work together to solve a global conspiracy, crack her mother’s murder, and find out for sure if she really is Sherlock’s daughter.”

Sherlock & Daughter was created by Brendan Foley (Cold Courage) while James Duff (Major Crimes) will be the showrunner Foley will write the series with Micah War Dog Wright and Shelly Goldstein while he and Duff also serve as executive producers.
