Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu debuts first teaser trailer

June 24, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Bill Skarsgård is the ghoul of your dreams as the actor prepares to debut as the iconic Count Orlok.

Robert Eggers has unleashed the first teaser trailer for Nosferatu, his upcoming horror film, which will be released this Christmas. It’s being described as a reimagining of F. W. Murnau’s 1922 film, which was later remade by Werner Herzog in 1979.

Eggers produces alongside Chris Columbus (The Witch and The Lighthouse), Eleanor Columbus, Jeff Robinov, and John Graham.

Skarsgård will lead the film, taking on the iconic role made iconic by Max Schreck, later played by Klaus Kinski. Co-stars Lily-Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult, and Willam Dafoe will join him.

Nosferatu stars Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hutter, a woman whose soul is seduced by the Count (Skarsgård) while her husband Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult) fights to save her. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe also star.

The film is described as a Gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.

Nosferatu will be released in theaters on Wednesday, December 25, from Focus Features.
