Jeremy Irons cast in The Morning Show season 4

July 4, 2024 by Ricky Church

Legendary actor Jeremy Irons has joined Apple TV+’s The Morning Show for its upcoming fourth season.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Irons will play Martin Levy, the father of Jennifer Aniston’s morning reporter Alex Levy. He joins fellow newcomer Marion Cotillard (Macbeth) for the upcoming season.

Irons has had quite an extensive acting career and has won Academy, Emmy and Tony Awards for his work. He’s most known for his roles in Reversal of Fortune, Dead Ringers, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Elizabeth I and the voice of Scar in The Lion King. Some of his more recent work include Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Watchmen, House of Gucci and The Beekeeper.

The Morning Show follows the exploits of Aniston’s Alex and Reese Witherspoon’s Bradley Jackson as they host a morning news program for the UBA network. The series has often followed real-world events such as #MeToo and the pandemic among other news stories. The third season saw Alex and Bradley battling Alex’s tech-billionaire boyfriend from buying UBA through illegal means which had dire consequences for several characters.

The fourth season will pick up with a two-year time jump after the third season finale, catching up with Alex, Bradley and their team following an FBI investigation into a story they buried as well as UBA’s merger with another news network.

Starring alongside Aniston and Witherspoon is Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Néstor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Julianna Margulies and Greta Lee with Jon Hamm, Steve Carrell, Ruairi O’Connor, Stephen Fry and Natalie Morales among some who have had recurring roles throughout the seasons.

The Morning Show is produced by Aniston’s Echo Films and Witherspoon’s Media Res with Jay Carson having created the series and Charlotte Stoudt serving as showrunner. The fourth season will begin filming this month.
