Netflix has just added even more members to the ensemble cast of The Thursday Murder Club, a film adaptation of Richard Osman’s mystery novel. Joining the film is Tom Ellis (Lucifer), Richard E. Grant (Saltburn), Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso), Paul Freeman (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark), Geoff Bell (Absentia) and Ingrid Oliver (Doctor Who).
The Thursday Murder Club follows “a group of friends in a retirement home who gather to solve murders for fun, but find themselves caught in a real case. The four members of the club are ex-spy Elizabeth, ex-psychiatrist Ibrahim, former union activist Ron and ex-nurse Joyce.”
The Thursday Murder Club features an impressive load of talent with Helen Mirren (1923), Pierce Brosnan (Black Adam), Ben Kingsley (Gandhi) and Celia Imrie (Good Grief) leading the film. Also starring is David Tennant (Good Omens), Jonathan Pryce (The Crown), Naomi Ackie (Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody), Daniel Mays (Franklin) and Henry Lloyd-Hughes (Killing Eve).
The film is currently in production under Home Alone and Harry Potter director Chris Columbus. He and Jennifer Todd are producing while Holly Bario, Jeb Brody, Eleanor Columbus and Jo Burn will executive produce. Netflix and Amblin Entertainment are producing overall.
