World War Z: Aftermath gets free Battle of Arizona update

July 11, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Sabre Interactive has announced that the Battle of Arizona update for World War Z: Aftermath is available from today and is free for all Aftermath survivors on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.  This new update promises to be the deadliest fight yet and introduces a new map for the Horde Mode XL and much more.  Watch the new trailer below to see more of what’s new in this update.

The new map for Horde Mode XL is set in an abandoned military museum in Phoenix where all the military exhibitions make for a very challenging experience.

Other features of the new free update include:

  • Improving Bags: New Improving Bag power-ups on PvE and Horde Mode maps that can provide a crucial advantage in the heat of battle. Bonuses include, a unique boost to strikes, increased ammo capacity and an additional equipment slot.
  • Class Swapping in Horde Mode and Horde Mode XL: Players will now be able to change their class once during each preparation wave allowing players to switch tactics to suit the situation.
  • New Custom Player Portrait Frames which are displayed in lobbies and on the scoreboard to show off accomplishments.

Also released today is the new Desert Defenders Weapons Pack.  This is a premium bundle available for £3.99 / €4.99 and features the new Kukri melee weapon that slices its way through zombies like a hot knife through butter.  There are also our new desert-themed, military-grade weapon skins for use on the DE50 pistol, 1877 SBL rifle, TMP5 SMG and M500 shotgun.

Both the Battle of Arizona update and the Weapons Pack are available now for World War Z: Aftermath on PC and consoles.
