One Piece Odyssey sails onto the Nintendo Switch

July 26, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Put on your straw hat, pick up your sword and get ready to set sail for adventure as Bandai Namco announce the release of One Piece Odyssey on the Nintendo Switch.  This RPG, already on Xbox, Playstation and PC, is available for the Switch as a Deluxe Edition and includes the Reunion of Memories additional scenario.  A new trailer can be seen below….

In One Piece Odyssey, the Straw Hat crew are blown off course by a sudden tempest leaving Luffy and the others washed up on the mysterious island of Waford while the beloved Thousand Sunny partially submerged off the coast. Players will join the crew as they set out to explore the island’s ancient ruins, meet the residents of Waford and fight different characters and monsters that have been designed by One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda.

Players will be able to take control of each member of the Straw Hats and use their unique skills for exploration or turn-based style combat.  The game features unique twists that make the most of utilising the crew’s skills, these include the Scramble Area Battle and the Dramatic Scene system.  In the former, players can move through multiple battle areas with individual characters to find their best strategy, the latter pits players in battles that are reminiscent of well-loved One Piece moments.

The Deluxe Edition features extra character outfits for the Straw Hat Crew, such as various travelling outfits, Sniper-King’s Traveling Outfit and the Nintendo Switch exclusive City of Water outfits.

One Piece Odyssey is available on Nintendo Switch now.
