Watch the opening eight minutes of Sony’s Kraven the Hunter with extended preview

December 2, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Sony Pictures has another serving if you crave one last superhero outing this year. Following their ‘cult classic in the making’ Madame Web, Sony will close the year with Kraven The Hunter. With the close countdown to release, the studio dropped an extended preview of the J.C. Chandor superhero film.

Ahead of the release of this clip, Chandor spoke to ComicBook.com about his positivity towards the film and how it stands out amongst the pack, stating: “I don’t want to give away too many plot points, but the way that our film is structured, the rest of those worlds don’t really matter. If I told this version of this story really freaking well and aimed for quality of storytelling and then with Aaron [Taylor-Johnson] and our action team and the things we’ve come up with, I think people are going to be really excited about that… But my goal was to kind of isolate our movie, protect it and just tell, you know, a good damn story.”

The directoir wants to keep the film at a smaller scope and ‘street level’ like the best Spider-Man stories, adding, “It’s a very grounded story… my favorite storylines in the Spider-Man world are street-level stories.  There are obviously some storylines that ended up in outer space and everything else, but ours does not. It’s very much based here, here in our world.”

Check out opening eight minutes here…

Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars in the J.C. Chandor-directed Kraven the Hunter. It also stars Russell Crowe, Alessandro Nivola, Ariana DeBose, Levi Miller, and Christopher Abbott.

“Kraven the Hunter is the visceral, action-packed origin story of how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be. Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays Kraven, a man whose complex relationship with his ruthless father, Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe), starts him down a path of vengeance with brutal consequences, motivating him to become not only the greatest hunter in the world, but also one of its most feared.”

Kraven the Hunter is only in theatres December 13th.
