The revolution is here in The Handmaid’s Tale final season trailer

February 12, 2025 by Ricky Church

The sixth and final season of The Handmaid’s Tale is set for its season premiere on April 8th and Hulu has released a trailer which sees Elisabeth Moss’ June return to Gilead to help her fellow Handmaid’s revolt against its tyrannical and corrupt government.

The Handmaid’s Tale is based on the novel by Canadian author Margaret Atwood and has often been named one of the best books of the 20th century. After over 30 years since its 1985 publication, Atwood wrote a sequel called The Testaments, which is already being developed as a TV series from Handmaid’s creator Bruce Miller with Ann Dowd set to reprise her role as Aunt Lydia.

The series will begin its final season with a 3-episode premiere on April 8th followed by weekly releases until its finale on May 27th. Watch the trailer below…

In the final season, June’s (Elisabeth Moss) unyielding spirit and determination pull her back into the fight to take down Gilead. Luke and Moira join the resistance. Serena tries to reform Gilead while Commander Lawrence and Aunt Lydia reckon with what they have wrought, and Nick faces challenging tests of character. This final chapter of June’s journey highlights the importance of hope, courage, solidarity, and resilience in the pursuit of justice and freedom.

The Handmaid’s Tale stars Elisabeth Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, Ann Dowd, O.T. Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, Sam Jaeger, Ever Carradine and Josh Charles.

The Handmaid’s Tale will premiere on April 8th.
