Amy Pascal and David Heyman to produce next James Bond film for Amazon MGM

March 26, 2025 by Gary Collinson

With Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson relinquishing creative control of the James Bond rights in a deal with Amazon MGM last month, 007’s next outing will mark the first official big screen outing for Ian Fleming’s super spy without the involvement of the Broccoli family since Eon launched the film series back in 1962 with Dr. No, and now we know who’ll be steering the franchise for its new future under Amazon.

As announced today, producer and former Sony Pictures chief Amy Pascal (Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man trilogy) is teaming with David Heyman (Harry Potter) to produce the next James Bond film through their Pascal Pictures and Heyday Films banners respectively.

“James Bond is one of the most iconic characters in the history of cinema,” said Amy Pascal and David Heyman. “We are humbled to follow in the footsteps of Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson who made so many extraordinary films and honored and excited to keep the spirit of Bond very much alive as he embarks on his next adventure.”

“We are approaching every creative decision with James Bond, which Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have so masterfully steered, with the greatest sense of responsibility,” added Amazon MGM Studios’ Head of Film, Courtenay Valenti. “Part of an elite group of producers who have developed and managed massive film franchises to box office success and critical acclaim, Amy Pascal and David Heyman are two of the most accomplished, experienced, and respected film producers in our industry. We are honored to be working with them on James Bond’s next chapter and are excited to deliver to global audiences storytelling that upholds the impeccable legacy of this beloved character.”

As yet, there’s no word as to when we might expect to see Bond 26 (or should that now be Bond 1?), but with 007 having been on the shelf since 2021’s No Time To Die (and a hefty $1 billion spent on the rights), it’s presumably a priority for Amazon. Both Pascal and Heyman have busy schedules though, with the former having Spider-Man 4 and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse in the works and Heyman currently deep in pre-production on Max’s Harry Potter TV series.
