Commandos: Origins launch trailer teases new chapter in the legendary real-time strategy series

April 10, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Commandos: Origins, the latest instalment in the legendary real-time stealth tactics series, is now available on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Players will follow the original Commandos squad on a set of missions that show off their early actions of World War II.  Watch the new launch trailer below…..

Players follow Thomas “the Sapper” Hancock and his crack group of Commandos through 14 intense missions that highlight the challenges they faced in the early days of the second World War.  Guide the Commandos through perilous operations, use tactical gameplay and strategic decisions and see how this elite fighting force formed a powerful bond.

Follow six extraordinary characters – Jack O’Hara “the Green Beret”, Thomas “the Sapper” Hancock, Francis T. “the Sniper” Woolridge, Samuel “the Driver” Brooklyn, James “the Marine” Blackwood, and Rene “the Spy” Duchamp, and learn each of their unique abilities and own backstory.

Lead this crack squad of Commandos through an assortment of missions in historically authentic WWII environments, spanning from the barren Arctic to the African desert.  Use your cunning and the team’s skills to complete complex actions and overcome heavily fortified targets. Each of the highly detailed, interactive environments will provide multiple ways to successfully complete the mission.  Players will be able to make their squad sneak, climb, drive various vehicles and hide their way to success.

For those who hate to play alone, Commandos: Origins allows players to team up in 2-player co-op mode either online or via split screen.

Commandos: Origins is available on PC and consoles now.  Xbox Series X/S Games Pass subscribers can play the game now as part of their subscription.
