Second chapter of DC Universe Online’s Light and Rain story arc available now

May 30, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Daybreak Games has announced that the second chapter of DC Universe Online’s Light and Rain story arc is now available for players. The Fearful Day chapter takes players into the hearts of a conflict on the living planet Mogo and provides a new Raid, Alert and Solo.  Watch the new trailer to see what’s new with this chapter.

Players of level 20 and above can explore the immersive open world of Mogo. This world will feature a thrilling story that will take players across the planet’s surface and deep into its core, and provide a batch of new battles to fight through. Once the main storyline is finished, players will be able to attempt a variety of repeatable daily and weekly missions that offer valuable rewards.

There’s a new Raid event for players to challenge themselves with, called Defending Mogo. This is a weekly 8-player experience that will have players join Hal Jordan as he sets out to investigate the rogue Yellow Lantern Corps’ advance on Mogo. It will be up to players to navigate a range of complicated caverns and stop fear from weakening the planet’s willpower.

A new 4-player daily Alert, Protecting Mogo, provides a scaled down version of the above Raid for smaller teams. This Alert will feature key story and combat moments such as the battle against Qwardian defences and a confrontation with Amon Sur.

The new Solo mission will introduce the Fearful Day storyline and sets the stage for Light and Rain’s next two chapters. Players will journey to the Hidden Lantern Village, home to a peaceful Blue Lantern settlement. Players will need to search the village for the missing Blue Lantern school students. But what dark influence has taken a hold over the village?

Other additions with this new chapter are:

  • New Augments, Currency, Exobytes, Catalysts, and Gear inspired by Qwardians & Indigo Lantern, Luzia Cavalera.
  • The return of two classic operations in Flashback form – Strike Team and Assault and Battery.
  • The Fearful Day four-week long event that will have players standing alongside the Lantern Corps to repel fear and secure Mogo’s survival. This event will run until 24th June.
  • Elite Henchmen Uplink Device: Oan Tactical Assault that allows players to summon two Green Lanterns alongside a Blue Lantern Officer to assist in combat for a limited time. This is an invaluable asset during battle but cannot be used in PvP Dethmatch Arenas for obvious reasons.
  • Two new Artefact Slots arrive allowing players to equip up to 5 Artefacts. To maintain balance, artefacts are now capped at 15% per stat.
  • New Artefact: Sinestro’s Corrupted Lantern Ring – When used by a Controller it summons a spectral Avatar of Fear that weakens opponents and increases damage. When used by a Damage dealer, it conjures an Avatar of Will.

The Fearful Day chapter is available now for DC Universe Online.
