Universal Monsters: Dracula set for the Black & White treatment from Image and Skybound

July 2, 2025 by Gary Collinson

Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment have announced that their acclaimed limited series Universal Monsters: Dracula from  James Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds is set to be resurrected in Black & White format as a double feature releasing this October and November.

“Back by popular demand, we’re thrilled to be offering a special black & white presentation of the Universal Monsters project that started it all — James Tynion IV & Martin Simmonds’ Dracula!” said Alex Antone, Editorial Director at Skybound. “Readers will be transported back to the days of classic cinema, and this hefty 2-in-1 printing pairs well with a nice glass of…wine!”

Originally unfolding over four suspenseful issues, the miniseries is presented here in double feature format, across two double-length issues coming this October and November.

The first installment plunges readers into the eerie world of Dr. John Seward’s asylum, where a new patient arrives whispering about a demon who has taken residence next door. As Dr. Seward struggles to apply logic to the madness, his surrogate daughter Lucy begins to fall under the dark influence of the twisted Count Dracula!

Universal Monsters: Dracula Black & White Special #1 will go on sale on October 29th 2025.
