Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill return to Doctor Who for a Vampire Weekend with Big Finish

July 3, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill make their Big Finish debut today with the first adventure in a series of twelve brand-new The Thirteenth Doctor Adventures. Set after the events of Series 12, Doctor Who: The Thirteenth Doctor Adventures – Vampire Weekend sees Yasmin Khan attend a hen do on Earth, with the Doctor tagging along.  It soon turns out that the Doctor isn’t the only unexpected guest.

Vampire Weekend kicks off a fresh run of chaos for the Thirteenth Doctor. This first adventure sees Yaz heading home to the Peak District for her friend Gina’s hen party, with the Doctor in tow, curious of the event. But when one of the guests is attacked, it becomes obvious to the duo that one of the partygoers may not be entirely… human.

Jodie Whittaker said: “I like anything to do with vampires – one of my favourite films is Let the Right One In – so it’s nice to be a part of a different genre. And what was so fun about this story is the amount of dialogue that the Doctor and Yaz have together.”

Joining Jodie and Mandip are Daniel Walford as Daryl, Anna Crichlow as Zoya and Kat, Jeremy Ang Jones as Mason and Mandi Symonds as Gina’s mum.

Available now from Big Finish for £9.99 (for digital copy) or £11.99 (for the CD box set and digitally), Vampire Weekend is the first of twelve full-cast adventures for the Thirteenth Doctor. And yes, as always there’s a multibuy bundle, because the people at Big Finish are nice.

Buckle up. The Doctor is back – and this time, it’s personal… with fangs.
