The upcoming dramedy The Pirate King has rounded out its cast to star alongside Rob Riggle (Step Brothers) and Jordana Brewster (Fast & Furious).
Joining the film are Billie Lourd (American Horror Story), Matt Barr (Walker), Elizabeth Tulloch (Superman & Lois), Nichole Sakura (Superstore), Leander Suleiman (Saturday Night), Annabeth Gish (Before I Wake), Brett Cullen (Joker), Chris Witaske (The Bear) and country music star Craig Morgan with Adele Abinante also making her feature film debut.
The Pirate King follows Riggle’s Todd, a Marine veteran struggling with PTSD and addiction who finds unexpected redemption when he joins a group of pirate reenactors, giving him a chance to fight for custody of his daughter and rebuild the life he thought was lost forever. Abinante will play Todd’s daughter Emmylou.
The film will be directed by Josh Plasse (The Baxters) from a script he wrote. The story is based on one by Brev Moss with inspiration taken from the real-life adventures of the pirate Captain Todd Willis. Production on the film is underway in Virginia Beach.
