Killing Floor 3 finally launches after delay

July 24, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Back in March, Tripwire Interactive announced they were delaying the latest installment of their brutal co-op action/horror franchise, Killing Floor 3, after feedback from a closed beta. Now, whatever went wrong or needed improvement has been sorted, and players can now fight for humanity’s survival on Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. A new trailer showcasing the horrors waiting to be eliminated can be seen below….

Much to Tripwire Interactive’s credit, they have kept in touch with the community through their forums and social media and provided details of what has been happening to address issues raised during the closed beta. The developers have now shared a roadmap covering all confirmed future content updates coming to all platforms.

Players can look forward to the edition of more enemies, more weapons, new specialists, and new maps to fight through.

“Launch is just the beginning for Killing Floor 3,” said Bryan Wynia, Creative Director at Tripwire Interactive. “Players can expect new maps, new perks, new specialists, new weapons, and new enemies in the coming months following launch.”

Set 70 years after the events in Killing Floor 2, this latest instalment of the legendary horror FPS series takes players to 2091, to a world where the megacorp Horzine has produced an army of bio-engineered monstrosities called Zeds.  Taking the role of a member of the rebel rogue group known as Nightfall, players must eliminate these infernal beasts and protect the future of humanity.

Players will be able to use a variety of weapons, from katanas to flamethrowers, and all are fully customisable with a variety of different mods and gadgets.  There will also be different skills that players can choose from to help match their preference in bloodletting.

Featuring:

  • Join 5 friends for frenzied 6-player co-op with full crossplay across all platforms. Although there’s still the option to go solo.
  • Face the most lethal Zeds ever, thanks to AI making them faster, deadlier and uglier.
  • A large variety of weapons, gadgets, and skills for players to choose from.
  • Plenty of dangerous locations to drop into, but with interactive environments that may give players an edge in a tight spot.
  • The M.E.A.T. System returns to deliver even more realistic carnage.

Killing Floor 3 is available on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X|S now.
