The new DC Universe continues in Peacemaker season 2 red band trailer

August 15, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

With just under a week to go until Peacemaker returns for its second season, HBO Max has dropped an action-packed red band trailer for James Gunn’s DC series, while the DC Studios co-chief has also been talking about the show’s importance to the fledgling new DC Universe.

“It’s a big part, definitely Superman leads directly into Peacemaker; it should be noted that this is for adults, not for children, but Superman leads into this show and then we have the setting up of all of the rest of the DCU in this season of Peacemaker, it’s incredibly important, lots of guest stars coming up, lots of characters that are showing up that we’ve already met in Superman., ” Gunn told THR. “I don’t think there’s anything that I’ve ever done that I love more than this season of Peacemaker, so I’m so excited for people to see it.”

Check out the new season 2 trailer below…

Season two sees John Cena’s Christopher Smith joined in the new DCU by fellow Peacemaker co-stars Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith/White Dragon, and Nhut Le as Judomaster.

The cast also includes Superman stars Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and – as you’ll see in the trailer – Isabela Merced as Supergirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner and Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord – along with new additions Tim Meadows (SNL) as Langston Fleury, Sol Rodriguez (Star Trek: Picard) as Sasha Bordeaux,  and David Denman (The Office) in an undisclosed role.
