Trailer for Korean mystery thriller The Villagers starring Don Lee

Ahead of its digital release this October, Well Go USA has shared a trailer for writer-director Im Jin-soon’s South Korean mystery-thriller The Villagers.

Train to Busan and Eternals’ Don Lee stars as Ki-Chul, a former boxer who begins a new job as a gym teacher at a high school in a strange town, but when a student goes missing he teams up with her best friend Yu-jin (Kim Sae-ron), setting out to find the truth surrounding her disappearance and uncovering a far-reaching conspiracy in the process. 

Along with Don Lee, the cast of The Villagers includes Kim Sae-ron, Lee Sang-yeob, Jin Sun-gyu, and Jang Gwang. Watch th trailer below…

Ki-chul (Don Lee) is sent to a high school in the country as its new gym teacher and has a hard time adjusting to his new environment and feels that there’s something definitely wrong about the town and its people. Yu-jin (Kim Sae-ron) is a high school student whose best friend disappeared without a trace. Everyone believes she ran away from home but Yu-jin is the only one who thinks she’s been kidnapped. With the help of Ki-chul, she sets out a dangerous path to uncover the truth…

The Villagers arrives on digital on October 7th.
