Retro-inspired beat-em-up Terrifier: The ARTcade Game launches today on PC and consoles

November 21, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Selecta Play has announced the launch of their 2D beat-em-up Terrifier: The ARTcade Game on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This retro-inspired title brings the legendary horror icon, Art the Clown, to gamers, giving them the chance to get creatively brutal in classic beat-’em-up style. Watch the launch trailer below….

Terrifier: The ARTcade Game is a 4-player co-op that lets players experience a twisted 16-bit world as a pixellated Art the Clown and other sinister characters. As Art (or his companions), players wander through a 2D world, hacking and slashing at those who are attempting to make a horror film using Art’s likeness.

As players go from level to level, turning film sets and streets into slaughterhouses, they will be able to turn victims into bloody puddles using a variety of different weapons. There are also many power-ups available to give that extra edge in combat and perform over-the-top gory attacks and finishing moves.

The game features a chiptune soundtrack with a main theme composed by Cody Carpenter, son of the famous John Carpenter, that complements the retro style and chaotic atmosphere.

Featuring:

  • Pixel art and animation that captures the Terrifier films and gruesome action.
  • Four-player chaotic co-op and other game modes where players will have to work together or against each other.
  • From chainsaws to cleavers, there’s a variety of different weapons to use.
  • Multiple stages with different paths to explore and enemies to beat. Each stage also includes a boss to defeat.
  • Over-the-top attacks and finishers that make gory attacks entertaining.
  • Six different game modes offering quick sessions or extended challenges.

Terrifier: The ARTcade Game is out now on Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch and Steam. Physical standard and Collector’s Editions are also available.
