Sony Pictures Classics has shared a trailer, poster and images for writer-director Mamoru Hosoda’s (Mirai) upcoming anime feature Scarlet.
The film centres on Scarlet, a medieval princess who awakens in a surreal world after becoming gravely injured while on a quest to avenge to her father’s death, where she meets an idealistic young man from present day who shows her the possibility of living a life free of rage.
The film features the voice talents of Mana Ashida, Masaki Okada, and Kôji Yakusho. Watch the trailer below…
After failing at her mission and finding herself gravely injured in a surreal world that exists somewhere between life and death, she encounters an idealistic young man from our present day who not only helps her to heal but shows her the possibility of a future free of bitterness and rage.
