New Doctor Who adventures arrive for the Second Doctor with The Potential Daleks

December 16, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Michael Troughton steps into the shoes of the Second Doctor today in The Second Doctor Adventures: The Potential Daleks, a new full-cast audio drama from Big Finish Productions. Followers of the Second Doctor’s adventures will have seen him embark on a mission for Time Lord agent Raven, which took him to the Vanishing Point, a powerful space-time archive. This latest box set continues that mission.

The last box set took listeners to the Vanishing Point, where the Doctor and his companions, Jamie and Zoe, encountered the Daleks. Now, the Doctor, Jamie, Zoe and Raven will investigate a nursery rhyme causing chaos through time, explore a tropical world, and discover what the villainous Daleks are plotting. The three new adventures in this box set are:

Humpty Dumpty by Nicholas Briggs – The simple Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme is causing chaos throughout time, but how can the Doctor and his companions prevent it from causing a catastrophe, and what is its connection to the battle which began on Skaro?

In Secret of the Daleks by Mark Wright, the time travellers are following the trail of the Daleks’ space-time corridor, but are surprised when the trail leads them to a tropical forest world. When the team takes refuge with a friendly tribe in their village, the Doctor wonders if the Daleks have been defeated, but there’s a secret waiting just around the corner.

Finally, in War of the Morai by Mark Wright and Nicholas Briggs, the Doctor and his companions rush back to the Vanishing Point to warn those there of the impending invasion. However, when they arrive, they find the plot already underway and the population in exile. While the Doctor, Raven and Jamie fight to restore order, Zoe must use her own mental powers.

This new box set will star Michael Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie, Wendy Padbury as Zoe, and Emma Noakes as Raven. Joining them are Jacqueline King as Ananke and Nurse Sally, Clare Corbett as Angela Headridge/Violet Headridge, Gary Turner as Last Star, Lara Lemon as Seraphina, Callum Pardoe as Aither, and Nicholas Briggs as the Daleks.
