First look at The Beatles in Sam Mendes’ Four-Film Cinematic Event

January 30, 2026 by Ricky Church

As director Sam Mendes continues production on his ambitious The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, he and Sony Pictures have released first-look images of Harris Dickinson, Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan and Joseph Quinn as the groundbreaking band.

The four films will follow each member of the iconic group as it tracks their incredible rise and popularity to their break-up and after, charting the effects each of them had in the music industry and their personal lives. Dickinson is playing John Lennon, Mescal as Paul McCartney, Keoghan as Ringo Starr and Quinn as George Harrison. These films mark the first time in the band’s history that members of their families have agreed to give a film both life and music rights to a production telling The Beatles’ story.

Other cast members include Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen (Cox) Starkey, Saoirse Ronan as Linda (Eastman) McCartney, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, and Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd. Also starring is David Morrissey, Leanne Best, James Norton, Harry Lloyd, Bobby Schofield, Daniel Hoffmann-Gill, Arthur Darvill and Adam Pally.

The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event will be released in April 2028.
