New Doctor Who adventures for Peter Davison’s Fifth Doctor coming to Big Finish in April

February 12, 2026 by Andrew Newton

There are more Doctor Who adventures for the Fifth Doctor and his companions coming this April in The Fifth Doctor Adventures: Helter Skelter. Peter Davison reprises his role as the beloved Doctor in three brand-new trips through time and space, along with Janet Fielding as Tegan Jovanka and Mark Strickson as Vislor Turlough.

From a quiet 1950s village in the English countryside to a deep-space amusement park, there is action, adventure, and danger in store for the Fifth Doctor and his companions in three new tales. These are:

‘Field of Miracles’ by Lauren Mooney & Stewart Pringle – The Tardis materialises in the quiet village of Heathrington in 1951, where everything seems too good to be true. In the midst of post-war austerity, the village is thriving, with plenty of food and whatever the villagers want easily at hand. It seems like a paradise, even down to the villagers’ deceased loved ones being with them once more. The Doctor suspects the work of the wish-granting crystalline organisms, the Asteri, but can he stop them before they get what they want from the unsuspecting villagers?

In ‘Helter Skelter’ by James Moran, a bio-engineered planet and amusement park suffers a critical malfunction and the Doctor and his companions become stuck in a time loop. The only problem is that it is being hidden from the Doctor, and only Tegan can see the trouble they are all in. How can Tegan fix this planet-wide time loop when the Doctor can’t even see it?

Finally, in ‘Land of Fools’ by Lauren Mooney & Stewart Pringle, the TARDIS arrives in 1980’s London, but something has gone disasterously wrong with the timeline. London is now a quasi-police state controlled by a mysterious, and seemingly benevolent, company called Luqos, and it’s not long before the trio separate – Tegan goes to see a friend, the Doctor teams up with an activist called Zan, and Turlough finds himself inside Luqos, where they find an old enemy at work beneath the city.
