New Doctor Who adventures coming for Colin Baker’s Sixth Doctor in April

February 6, 2026 by Andrew Newton

There’s more adventures in store for the Sixth Doctor this April when Big Finish releases Doctor Who: The Sixth Doctor Adventures – Expulsion. This upcoming full-cast audio drama, starring Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant, takes the Doctor and Peri through Stuart England, Medieval France and Viking Denmark with an old friend, or maybe an enemy.

At the end of the Sixth Doctor’s August 2025 box set, Bad Terms, the Doctor and Peri were reunited with Vislor Turlough, who spent time with the Fifth Doctor on the TV series from 1983 to 1984. Turlough’s time with the Doctor was frustrating for viewers as he spent much of it in league with the Black Guardian, plotting against the Doctor. However, he now claims to have matured, but will he be believed, and how will he take to the Doctor’s new personality? All will be revealed in the following three stories:

In ‘The Reckoning’ by Nev Fountain, after a freak incident involving a neutron star, the Doctor, Peri and Turlough find themselves in seventeenth-century London, where their old friend Christopher Marlowe, is trying to get out of a pact he’s made with his soul as collateral. But has Turlough also made a similar deal?

‘A Crucible of Queens’ by L M Myles takes the trio to France in the aftermath of the Battle of Agincourt. Although, the Doctor and Turlough find themselves taking the sides of opposing factions. While the Doctor is tasked with healing King Charles VII, Turlough is befriending the Dauphin of France. But two powerful women are also playing the political game, making the whole situation difficult for the TARDIS crew.

Finally, in ‘The Curse of the Duergar’ by Julian Richards, the TARDIS arrives back in the time of the Vikings. The Shieldmaiden Hervor braves the ghosts of her ancestors to claim the sword Tyrfing, an ancient relic made by Duegar, but even the Doctor can’t resist its power, much to the horror of Peri and Turlough.
